iDoor – Presentation Video

Alhamdulillah…we manage to assemble the idoor mechanism and it works. Enjoy the video..

iDoor – Presentation

On 26.10.2009, we are supposed to present our project idoor, to our lecturer, Dr Wahyudi. Unfortunately, there are a lot problems faced by us during the final assembly of our project. The first problem was the ac adaptor didnt provide enough current for the power window motor to run. It’s kinda weird however we manage to overcome it by using 12v battery. Then, another problem arise, the analog circuit didnt work properly. And it is the beginning of the epec failure. We change the circuit and it work for a while then during testing, the limit switch didnt functioning. And the disaster end when the PIC board burned. THE END for us.

However, thanks to Dr Wahyudi because he gave us time extension for the project presentation. The presentation can be done in his office or we can make a video presentation and send it to him through the net.

Lesson learned: Do not overconfidence with any simulation or calculations. All circuit of ours has been simulated using Crocodile Technology but in the real world, the circuit fail to perform 100% because of voltage drop etc. In the future, we will try to do thorough analysis and testing on every project that assigned to us. This failure is an unforgettable event to every group member of Pakob Energetic and InsyaAllah this failure will give us inspiration to be a better Mechatronics engineer or PTD.

iDoor – Protoyping Day 4

On 25.10.2009, we manage to assemble the whole system. The first task done was connecting the electronics and mechanical system. The resulted mechatronics system then tested for any malfunction.

iDoor – Protoyping Day 3

On 24.10.2009 afternoon, we start to solder and finalize the design of the analog circuit of the idoor system. The components of the analog circuit are relays, limit switches, resistor and transistor. The analog circuit will control the rotaion of power window motor hence control the opening and closing of the idoor.

That was on the afternoon, after getting some rest, we started some work on the PIC programming. PIC used by us is the Microchip PIC16f877a. The compiler used is the CCS C compiler.

We managed to complete all programming at 12.45 am and we will mount and connect the electronics part and the mechanical tomorrow thus the the system can be called a mechatronics system.

iDoor – Prototyping Day 2

On Day 2, the work started on the slider crank. The slider crank mechanism work was led by Bro Hanafi@Kutak. He is the one that come with the slider crank idea.

iDoor – Prototyping Day 1

On 22.10.2009, we have started some work on the idoor. The first task that we are going to do is develop the mechanical part of the idoor. The main part of the idoor are the base, the door and the sliding mechanism. On day 1, the work on the base and door itself had started and led our mechanical maestro, Bro Saufi.

We managed to complete the base and do some testing on it. The testing result shows that the base is stable enough to carry a big door.

Another parts we managed to complete on day 1 is the door itself.

Final Presentation – Project II: Artificial Hand

The final presentation for the artificial hand project was on 19.10.2009. Alhamdulillah, we manage to present the artificial eventhough all of our group members exhausted. All of us completed the protoype by 5.30 AM, 19.10.2009. There are some unexpected problem occur and thank God we manage to overcome all the problem. Among the problems encounter by us are:
1. Imbalance string tension
2. Electronics jumper connection malfunction

This event gave us a lesson; always recheck and ensure the design is stable enough and testing need to be done from time to time.

EXTRA: We also done some prototype testing at Stabak.

Project II

The Project II -prototyping artificial hand due 19.10.2009.

iDoor: Prototype

After a very long rest due to Eid and midterms, our boss, Hadi set that all protoyping work on iDoor will be started on Friday, 9.10.2009. Although it kind of late from the original plan, the postponement is unavoidable as most of the crews needs time for their midterms.

Mid-Term Progress Report

On 2nd September 2009, the progress of idoor presented to our lecturer, Dr. Wahyudi. The powerpoint file available for download.
